Adam Godwin Soccer Academy U16 Tournament Team Tryouts

In collaboration with Virginia Episcopal School, Adam Godwin Soccer Academy is launching a  U16 boys travel tournament team for the 2020 spring season. The purpose of this team is to compete in 2 high level tournaments while providing quality coaching and training opportunities. The team will train twice per week. To be considered for the roster please plan to attend the tryout. Attendance at the tryout is free and open to current 8th through 10th graders.

WHAT WILL THE COST BE?

The cost per player is $320. This will cover all practices, US Club Soccer regsitration fees, uniform, coaching fees and expenses, AGSA administration costs, plus entry fees to two tournaments.

The only thing that will NOT be covered is expenses related to tournament travel. Each family will be responsible for their transport, accomodation, and meals, etc, at each of the tournament.

WHEN/WHERE WILL WE PRACTICE?

We will practice at VES (400 V.E.S. Road, Lynchburg, VA 24503). The team will practice twice per week with exact dates and times to be determined.

WHO WILL BE THE COACH?

Parker Aaron and Noah Carney of the Randolph College men's soccer program will coach the team. Both are USSF certified coaches and will do a phenomenal job. Adam Godwin will provide administrative and coaching support to the team, but will not be involved in the practices or tournaments.

WHICH TOURNAMENTS WILL WE ENTER?

May 2-3 - Commscope Cup - Hickory, NC

May 15-17 - NC Fusion Cup - Greensboro, NC

WHEN WILL THE SEASON RUN?

The intention is for this team to begin practicing the week of March 16 or March 23 depending on how quickly we can get the team confirmed. We will train every week through our two tournament. A full calendar will be provided once the team is confirmed.

THE GOAL OF THE ACADEMY

It is very important for me to state that goal of the Adam Godwin Soccer Academy always has and always will be advising and assisting players in fulfilling their potential on and off the field and achieving their goals. As such, it may be that participating on this team may not be the best option for you. Therefore I encourage you to look at all of your options and participate in the club and team which best serves you, and I am always available to speak with to help guide you in that process. This team will be high quality players, with high quality coaches, participating in high quality events. But you need to be sure it will aid you in achieving your goals, so please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have questions and need advice on that.
